2009 DN-01 - Honda Powersports

Read about it on that web page, from Honda. A 680cc V-TWIN that I bet makes alot more power than the 680cc lawn tractor motor that is in the Rincon now. It even has an auto transmission that has SIX GEARS, which would solve the Rincons lack of a low enough gear problem. That engine and transmission with the Rincon's already great handling chassis might just win ATV of the year awards. Come on Honda, quit holding back on us.

And yes, its a CVT transmission, ... on a Honda!

I hear ya'3TV. That is a very interesting looking bike. I would like to ride one just to get feel for a motorcycle with a CVT. Not sure I would like that or not.

But, that would make Honda a strong contender then. I love how the Rincon handled. I like you only wished it had more power.

I used to have two Hondas in my garage but I got tired of wating on Honda to come out with a quad that was new and fresh and didn't use 1990s tech.

Yes Hondas are crazy reliable but that can only take you so far as other manufactures have smashed Honda in ATV sales over the past few years.

I do agree that honda needs to improve on their models alot, even make brand new ones... But the honda atv IS the most reliable atv EVER made. Just that simple.

While I have owned many Honda's, I am not so sure they are the most reliable. I think the Yamaha Grizzly is a very reliable machine and I have less trouble with it that any of my Honda's.

I own all older hondas and they will keep bangin no matter what they go through. All the polaris's and kawasakis rely heavily on the cvt transmission. This is great for just sport and speed, but when you put it in the mud, there has to be much more prep taking it in the water and in my opinion, are more prone to failure. I think honda made a big mistake when they adopted cvt on some models. And yamaha makes an okay atv, but i have owned multiple yamaha products and was not very impressed. My 85 model honda 250 still runs like a champ, and has been up in water over the racks. U must have had faulty equipment, or it just has not hit me yet!!!:thumbup:

If you're riding an '85 Honda, you're riding pretty much the same technology Honda is producing today. Everyone else has advanced in the last 25 years. Go ride some of the newer machines from other manufacturers, I'm sure you'll be impressed.

I actually own a 1999 polaris Xplorer 500 and am not impressed with it one bit. It is always breaking, we have broke 2 axles in it so far, blown the starter, had to take the carb out multiple times. The racks are broken from puting like 2 feed bags on them. I have carried up to 6 on my 250! I am going to try and fix it tomorrow as a matter of a fact. The only thing that i will agree with yall is that: 1. Polarises pull very well (except when you put them in the water) and 2.hondas newer models just wont cut the mustard. They think that their atvs are soooooo good that they dont have to change anything. Now i am a honda man through and through, but something has really gotta give. I think that honda needs to put the V-Twin on this page into like a Mud ready honda with like outlaws stock on it. Now that would be a sight to behold!!! Artic cat and Can-Am have already done this, when will hondas factories turn out something similar?:club:
