What did you do to your ATV today?

So what did you do to your ATV today? Did you burry it in mud? New tires? Ride it in the mountains? Lets hear what you're doing.

I'll start.

I ordered a set of 3.5" Rox risers, Fasst Flexx handlebars, and a 2R exhaust tip for the Grizzly 700.

Well, mine sat in my shop with the sheave apart waiting for more weights to come in. Then I got a ship notifications that they won't be here until Monday. That bites.
Didnt work on mine today, but chased some m10 x 1.25 graded locknuts down for my new 1 1/2" spacers.....rare thread I found out. I stopped at 6 stores including Fastenal(who didnt stock them) but finally scrounged up enough.

Plans for weekend pending as long as Mr. UPS man shows with a couplke thing that are supposed to be here tomorrow:
Install spacers
Install Rox Risers w/ Trail Tech bars, ODI lock on grips and Rox dash plate.
Install new rearveiw mirrors. I have a pair of new SkiDoo ZX mirrors kicking around and should look cool mounted on my brute. No guarentees how long till I tear 1 off though :laughing7:
I've got several things on the back burner. Carb work, raised foot pegs, exhaust (maybe), clutch weights. That's just a few things. I didn't do anything particular today, but a friend made me a custom billet shift knob and it came in the maild today. Great looking and it feels nice and meaty. Can't wait for that. Sometimes its the little things that make me happy.
Well, yesterday I installed my Leo Vince pipe. Took some flicks of it today. ;;t;; :icon_thumleft: :cheer:
Today, cleaned off the PowerMadd handguards, got some tools together to do some pipe testing Saturday. And I checked the anti-rotation rods on my tracks. Seems a friend had one snap & flipped him. (He was on hardpack) ... Designing some new ones out of 7/8 cold rolled rod. Now that ought to be beefy !!!

Oh yeah, started the bike twice .... love the sound of the new pipe .... what can I say ?? :cheer: :icon_thumleft:

Nice choice on the bars and risers 3TV. That's the setup I'm running. As for today...my quad did nothing. Just sat in the garage. I'm here in Ohio and my quad is back in my garage in Massachusetts. :sad2:
It's 9:30 PM, and I just got back from some trail building work. Some friends and I have been building an ATV trail that starts right at the base of the mountain where we live (Cedar Mountain). It has been a five year work project at this point, and has needed lots of pick and shovel work, chainsaw work, and even a rented mini track hoe for a few days. The trail is on private land and the land owner is actually helping us build it because he is an avid ATVer as well. He is the one that rented the track hoe to cut in a section of switchbacks. The trail is the most challenging trail that I have personally ridden, and is just barely able to be ridden by a good utility 4x4 ATV. And at this point the trail is close to 15 miles long. It climbs up and over the top of the 10,000 foot high Cedar Mountain, down the other side and through the next canyon, and then back up and almost to the top of the next mountain. After work today we spent three hours extending the trail another 1/4 mile or so. We are within fifty yards of the top of the second mountain range. It was tough getting up on the mountain today because of rain last night. One section was a little muddy, and I had to winch up one of the tough spots. And the ride back home in the dark was interesting to say the least. The two guys that were up on the mountain already working when I got there this evening turned the ride home into a 15 mile long hard core race. That was nuts, ... but a whole lot of fun.

I should probably just be jealous over 3TV and let it be at that, but I can't. I'd love to see some pics or videos of this trail you speak of 3TV. Reason being that mountian riding (private land) is quite common with me. I don't have 10,000 ft mountians here, but they are steep, and they will claim you if you screw up. I haven't had my GPS with me while riding so I don't know just how tall our mountians are, but I'd guess the 3000-4000 ft range. But I'm very serious in saying that they are mountians. Not rolling hills. Anyway, me and my friend (who owns the land) would probably both like to see the trail you guys are working on. We just blazed one a few weeks ago but nothing fancy about it all. I guess I really need to get a GPS mount and add that to my list of things to do to the quad.

Now I want to ask Gunny more about his pipe. I've read a couple of small articles on the LV Pipes. If indeed have a few flicks of the quad with the LV Pipe on it, maybe you could youtube it and inbed it in a thread.

I spent yesterday at home, as I have for almost a month now, to use ATV's, chain saws, 10,000lb escavator (D50), and homemade grooming stuff, to work on my private 20 mile trail.

Yesterday was more maintainance day.....

Brute, fix bent rear bumper, clean air filter, change oil, fix bent skid plate
Eiger, clean air filter, change oil, inspected belt...
2 Bayou's, same thing, but one Bayou has an oil leak at a Banjo Bolt, dam lubricant lines to top end, I think the case is cracked...over torqued after changing the starter in the fall....

Used the Brute to haul 2 cord of wood from forest to landing......
Did 10 mile rip when done with TFOREST....was another typical day here at Little Pond Farm!!! :beer"
I think some of you guys have way to much fun everyday ... mak'in your own trails ... how would THAT be !!?? .... :icon_thumleft: :beer"

3TV,
I put one pic of the pipe in the garage with my bike. I met another grizzly owner thru another forum who lives in the same town, coming over tonite. :icon_thumleft:
He has an HMF Utilitly pipe on his & we were going to compare some noise levels tonite.
Later, I want to do some kind of comparisons with his machine & pipe & do a post on ATV Torture, but I have to see what he has for mods on his & ... right now I'm still running my tracks .... so it may be a little while. :sad2:

And if I know you, you want timed runs ? Who beat who ? And, other neat stuff ... right ?? ..... ;;s;; :sign10: :eek:ccasion14:

Not sure about the "YouTube" thing .... for one thing, a guy needs someone to take the video & I pretty much ride alone. :icon_thumleft: :beer"

Took mine out yesterday after work for the 10 minute ride out to a landlocked pond and wet a line. Had a quick beer while there and took in the scenary. Than for a nice slow paced ride back home for dinner. Did not catch anything but the scenary and quiet was good enough for me.
What did you do to your ATV today?

Nothing today, but the UPS man brought me some parts from Dynatek yesterday so i have something to do on this coming rainy Saturday. ;;t;;
You guys got me all fired up about the sway bar removal. I went out and removed the sway bar on my bosses (wifes) popo and we went for a ride and over some logs and some technical stuff. We are going to post pics of how much the articulation improved.

Battlegun,
I had planned on getting a helmet cam set-up with the money I got back on tax return this year. Too bad I just blew that money on Flexx handlebars, Rox risers, and a 2-R exhaust tip for the Grizzly, and on a Gibson full exhaust for the Rhino, LOL. I'll try to take some digital still pictures of the trail, or even a cell phone video or two, and get them posted on photobucket or youtube.

Here's the Gibson exhaust I ordered for the Rhino.

Its too bad Gibson doesn't make one for the Grizzly, because this one isn't so loud that it makes you tone deaf every time you ride. I'm done buying loud exhaust, ... just too irritating on all day long rides.

If you want to see where the trail leads to, take a look at the picture of my Grizzly in the "garage" section of this forum. The picture was taken from the top of the first mountain ridge we cross with the trail.

Get some friends ?? :bs: ...... Man, I don't know ..... Helmet cam ?? That would be cool to do .... put it on backwards & take a "flick" (that means a video I learned today) of my facial expressions as I ride .... :laughing7: .... Ummm .... I wonder how big my eyes got when I fell thru that ice last weekend ..... :laughing4: :laughing4:

Ummm ... on second thought ... a helmet cam pointed forward would probably be best huh !!?? ... :glasses2:

I'll have to think about that .... Thanks for the ..... suggestion BW ! .... :angry4: ..... :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7:

I'm running 26" Bighorns on stock wheels for now. I haven't even thought of doing any clutch mods just yet, but i like what i've been reading about the Fix sheave. The UPS man brought me an ignition and coil kit that i hope to get on there tomorrow. I really have to take some time and set up a garage on here. :BangHead:
looked at it, started her up a couple times.. trails aren't open in Maine for a week or so.. too muddy.. I know laugh but after the winter we just had. :cold: every inch of trail is a swampy mess, and Landowners are clinching down on their land for use because of idiots that gooose it through everything and destroying the trail and creating bad erosion problems... its drying up though and soon we'll be out there.. Its actually nice to ride a semi dry trail, and then come upon big mudholes to play in... rather than battle that for miles on end. would be too tiring.. :sleepy2:
