Is it possible to make it soo i don't have to push the rear break lever or foot pedal soo i can put it reverse? on the grizz 700?... cause it's sooo ******* annoying when your exhaust is under water and trying to keep idle up and shift and hold the break at the same time, i just want it to be like honda or canam where you just pull it back and your in reverse.... thanks

yes if you take off the left side panel and look behind the exhaust at the shift lever you will see a pin thats hooked to a cable. The pin moves when you hit the rear brake lever all you have to do is remove that pin and cable assembly. Now no more hitting the brake to shift.

There's a cable with a plunger on the engine end of it that leads from your handlebars to the shift mechanism that prevents you from shifting when you don't have the handle pulled in. If you remove that cable, you can shift on the fly.

The cable ends up underneath the right side plastic where you legs sits. Just unscrew it from there and follow it up to the bars and remove it from there. 10 minute job.

It is easy to remove the brake shift stop. Remove both side panels. On the left side just behind and under the upperwards bend in the exhaust you will see a gate at the end of the shift rod. You will also see a pin sticking out and the metal lockind device.

I've provided some pics so you know what ur looking for.

There is a much easier way to do the shift mod. There is a cable that runs off your left hand rear brake. About 6" down the brake cable there is a cable adjuster covered by a rubber sleeve. Loosen the lock nut and turn cable to make longer.

That's odd Nate, my Renegade does.....hmmmm, I didn't mod it.... Same year, should be the same....I just cranked mine and checked and I can shift freely with it cranked at idle.

If I get the chance I'll verify that statement. It could be incorrect, but with the stiff arse shifting maybe thats why I thought that. FYI, even with the aftermarket oneway bearing I have to tap (repeatedly) the foot brake to get it to shift smoothly. Still MUCH better than the stock bearing.

My only problem with shifting is I do generally have to rock it back and forth to be able to get it to shift gears which is very annoying for a $10,000+ quad. Seems like they could have engineered the shift a little smoother.

I couldn't agree with you more, however, the bearing replacement really helps. It still isn't as smooth as a yami, but it is sure beats doing the "can-am humpty dance".
