I'm a life long off road guy, a forester and business manager for a multi brand Maine powersports dealer. I understand landowners, state agencies, ATV dealers and most of all enthusiasts concerns about where to ride ATV's. I also believe strongly in the national non profit Tread Lightly! and it's message of responsible, ethical off road recreation to preserve access to trails for all of us. If that makes any sense to you, I hope you'll take a minute to visit Tread Lightly - Home. My Maine Tread Lightly! partner and I are holding communications training courses on February 28th and March 14th for those who are really interested and want to be part of the solution to reduced riding areas. You can reach me at 207.841.8434 or at my ATV Torture username: [email protected]. I also hope you're having as much fun and/or racing sucess off road as I am and your kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren have the opportunity to do so too.

I agree with you 100%. For several years I was the president of a statewide off-road club for full size vehicles and one of the things we pushed was to pack it in, pack it out and tread lightly but have fun. We also worked with the Environmental Protection Agency to prove that we were doing all that we could for our sport by doing stream cleanups and other projects.
