Can a tire get stretched????? I ask because I bought a set of used Swamp lites and rims, 12x27. I checked the air pressure and they were all a little high if you ask me, they were 10 to 14 psi. so I adjusted them to 6 psi. But here comes the confusion, When I put the tire up next to the 4 wheeler and compared the 27" tire to the 30" sbacks I have on my 14s, the 27 swamp lite was almost as tall as the 30. That surprised me. I mean, there was maybe a 1/2 to 3/4 inch difference. Idk, maybe when the rims are mounted on the bike it will squat some and make a diff. But I was a little surprised. I bought these for trail ridding, it's so dry around here right now, I don't see mud ridding any time soon. I was looking for a set of 14" rims for some dirt commanders I have, but haven't run across any good priced rims yet. so I bought a whole set of 12s cheap.

if you have the new ones at 6psi, it doesn't sound like they are stretched. We have found poor specs from some manufacturers from what they are supposed to be and that could be the case with these. A mud tire is gonna grip better at low pressure as you know so drop em down to 4-5 psi and see how they look. Are the sidewalls squatting at 6psi???

For example, the stock X tires are 25" tires. The fronts measured 23" filled to factory specs. Poor R&D but it could be the case for yours as well.

Thats with 5 psi next to 5 psi. each tire has the same air. but Sbacks are 30s and swamplites are 27x12. I'm a little shocked they are so tall.

DANG !!! ..... I hate that a guy just doesn't know what actaul size the tires he buys are gonna be ?? :cussing: ......

Do the SB's run a tad small ?? And like Battlegun wrote, I've heard Swamplites run large ... 27's are actually more like 28's.

So if the 30 SB run closer to 29 actual ... & the 27 SWL run closer to 28 actual .... then yeah, the two tires would be real close to the same height & you'd be standing there, scratching yer head mumbling ... WTF ?? :BangHead: ........... Oh wait ......... you are standing there mumbl'in "WTF ??" :rotfl: ....... WHAT ?? :angel12:

Later ....

This just really doesn't surprise me much. We have seen some serious R&D problems with tires with all the tires we've reviewed. This seems typical, yet pathetic.
