If I could bank on significant snow every season, I would do everything in my power to own a sled or two.

Why do I have this sudden interest in sledding? This past week I was privy to ride a Yamaha RX-1. This was my first sled ride ever and I still get a school boy grin when I think about it. The raw power that machine harnesses is amazing. So, with my new found winter love, I'd like to hear from any sled owners out there who share the passion for the sport/hobby of sledding. Let us know what you have, where you are and of course feel free to post pics of your sled. (I'll try to get some pics of the RX-1 this weekend.)

I have a real old sled. Its an old bombardier chalat. I don't ride it anymore.

But I am going to be getting into the snowmobiling sport. I have been doing some riding wiht my uncle 2009 Ski doo. Its unbelievable. Its a mix between a dirt bike and a ATV that goes in the snow! Its such a great adrenaline rush. The power is way more than any ATV can ever produce. Around here the mountains are full of snow constantly its great.

You got that right Mack! The RX-1 is a smaller sled that reminds me of a motorcycle/atv. The fact that it comes in around 600lbs and hosts a 4 banger with 4 carbs (same motor as Yami's R1 sport bike) says enough. The sled made 97 MPH in less than 1/4 mile. I know this thing will do a lot more than that too. I didn't feel comfortable pushing things as it was my first time on one and the handling characteristics are way different than anything I've ever riden.
