ATV seats today are made to withstand many different tribulations; from hot and cold environments, malevolent mud and sand to the occasional gouging of a sharp object. In any case this leaves our ATV looking less than desirable to the eyes; not to mention it leads to even more eventual damage.

Luckily there is a company in Laguna, California who specializes in aftermarket custom seat covers for many ATV models. Founded in 1996 by Professional Jet Ski World Champion Bill "Wild Bill" Pointer, Quad Tech-ATV manufactures custom ATV seat covers as well as custom carbon fiber products for many ATV models.

Our Grizzly 700 test ATV was beginning to show signs of wear in the seat area; in fact it was wearing through the vinyl on the corners of the seat. When we heard that Quad Tech-ATV manufactured a seat cover for the Grizzly 700 we were ecstatic at the chance to test it out.

First Impression

All stitching seemed to be perfect without any noticeable straggling threads. The silk-screening on the seat itself was blemish free with the bright white and easy to read Quad Tech-ATV logo on the rear corner as well as centered on the back.

The main seat area had a small extra layer of padding attached that looked to add a softer seating area as well as some additional protection to the seat itself.

Quad Tech-ATV also used the gripper material in this part of the seat to add a level of “tackiness” for the rider.

Installation

<table style="border-collapse: collapse;" id="AutoNumber4" border="0" bordercolor="#111111" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="10" width="100%"> <tbody><tr> <td width="71%"> Quad Tech-ATV will install your seat for if you send it to them with a very fast turn around time. However, we couldn’t afford any downtime with the Grizzly 700 and needed to have the seat available for a trip to Hatfield and McCoy trails in West Virginia. Our first attempt we tried to install the seat ourselves; which would have gone perfectly fine had we had the proper type of staple gun to complete the installation. We took the Grizzly seat and Quad Tech-ATV cover to Arts Custom Shop in Parkersburg, WV who specializes in auto upholstery, motorcycle seats and many other custom vehicle applications. They provided a great finished product and a quick 2 day turn around.

Ride Report

<table style="border-collapse: collapse;" id="AutoNumber5" border="0" bordercolor="#111111" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="10" width="100%"> <tbody><tr> <td width="24%"> </td> <td width="76%"> With the Grizzly 700 seat cover in place and the seat securely latched onto the vehicle it was time for our assessment. I immediately noticed a softer feel with the padded backing we mentioned earlier. The gripper material does just what it is intended to do. You’ll certainly not need to worry about sliding off of this seat. It is almost like you have a Velcro seat and wearing Velcro pants. The all black seat with white Quad Tech-ATV lettering gives the Grizzly 700 a custom touch.

On the Grizzly 700, I always found myself constantly sliding forward towards the gas tank. This was a major annoyance for me, but the Gripper material completely eliminated this frustration of constantly repositioning my posterior on the seat. The Quad Tech ATV seat made for a much more comfortable ride; even after several 100+ mile days.
</td> </tr> </tbody></table>

Conclusion

<table style="border-collapse: collapse;" id="AutoNumber6" border="0" bordercolor="#111111" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="10" width="100%"> <tbody><tr> <td width="71%"> The Quad Tech-ATV seat cover is not only a trick aftermarket add-on, but it also adds a functional performance upgrade to allow you to stay planted onto your machine in the most extreme situations. The quality double stitching will ensure long lasting durability.

If you are looking to replace your old worn out seat, or simply want a better performing seat; look at what Quad Tech-ATV has to offer first, they can replace your foam and recover it with a far superior than the OEM setup.
