While I don't personally own a Sportsman, I think I may have had a similar problem with my Renegade. After I washed it for the first time, my machine went into "LIMP HOME" mode. When it does that, it limits the amount of power you can get in an attempt to prevent more damage to the machine. I found out mine was nothing more than loose battery cables. My dealer was able to reset it and its worked like a champ ever since. I wonder if maybe this is the case with your Polaris. Perhaps it has a similar system and sensed something it perceived to be a problem. Next time you start it up, see if you can see anything on the digital display that would indicate problems. I have heard of power cutting out with watery gas too but I can't think how water would get into the fuel system. Good luck with it and keep us posted.

Welcome by the way.

Another thing to do if you swamped it is to pull apart every electrical connection and spray WD-40 in it to displace the water (WD=water displacement). Next step, then squirt di-electric grease in the same connections. This will ensure you are getting a good solid electrical connection and rule out it being a flaky electrical problem.

Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

along with all of the previously mentioned tips, i'd suggest draining the tranny as you may have gotten water in through the vent line. also would change oil/filter a couple times, stand bike up and let water drain from exhaust. check the appearance of the fuel tank for water - it usually looks like large bubbles or globs on the bottom. make sure to use compressed air, or allow the electrical connections some time to let the WD40 dry out before using the dielectric grease. after things are back up and running, consider adding some snorkels.
