Good afternoon! I noticed a drip of oil today on my exhaust and further investigated, finding a good amount of oil in the airbox. The machine has 80 miles on it, it is a 500. Awesome machine, by the way, much more nimble than my old 700 polaris was......

Anyway, I did tip the machine on its side this spring, at about 60 miles. it was on the ice, at low speed, nothing broken. could that oil have pumped in there then? ism there a valve or something in the oil breather that I may have damaged?

Thanks!

It could have happened for several different reasons. Sometimes when you overfill with engine oil you will get blowback. Most quads have a PCV (Positive Crankcase Vent). These are usually vented back into the airbox. The Vtwins are usually back about causing an oil mist which can eventually end up in the air box. Doing wheelies a lot don't help either. I wouldn't worry too much. If it is a persistent problem then you may want to take it to your local dealer and have them look at the issue.

hi trailmonkey, welcome to the site! i'd assume that oil came from when you laid the quad over, nothing to really worry about. if you happen to put it over again :nono: check it out soon afterwards. i see it's a 500cc machine, do you have an outlander or renegade?

edit: just checked your sig and i see it's an outlander
