i have two problems i need some ideas on how to fix them

1st i have my winch i do alot of mud and water riding it keeps locking up on me after i hit it a few time with a rock or a hammer or whatevers handy on the motor side it works just fine
should i pull the motor case off clean the brushes and silicone the heck out of it. that is my idea

2nd i have a hmf pipe i was out riding the other day and i kept losing power it kept getting worse and worse so i check a few things and i put my hand behind the exhaust and it was barley blowing. so i start looking threw my tools and i did not have the allen head i needed to take my tip off and it was about 5 miles from a buddy of mines house so i rode there by the end i had lost all of the power and i had to push it up small hills. so i got to my buddies house and took the tip off and i noticed that the rivets that are in the pipe had pushed out (circled in black) and the back of the muffler was pushing out (circled in red). so i take the spark arrestor out and it is clogged with some kind of packing so i just took it out and left it
my question is should i just try redoing the rivets or try some sheet metal screws to keeping the back of my pipe on

I'm guessing you might go a size larger with the rivets for the pipe. I'm also guessing that you didn't repack the exhaust at the recommended interval? Most of todays performance exhausts will need to be repacked periodically but I've never heard (or asked) what would happen if they were not repacked as recommended. Perhaps this is it?

On the winch, do you have the one that came with the quad from the dealer or did you buy one seperate?

i bought the winch after i had the bought the bike and the pipe has only been on about 4 months
The reason I asked about the winch is that the "free" winches I THINK have a plastic gear in them and has caused problems for some people. The advice grizzlywizard gave would be my next move for sure.

The HMF pipe befuddles me. I've not owned an HMF, but I would think they have some warranty and I can't think it would be expired in 4 months. Perhaps you can look into that. The ONLY complaint I've heard on the HMF Utilitys was the noise level. I've never heard anything like this before. I'm very interested in hearing your resolve.

Do you have the spark arrestor in the HMF pipe? The reason I ask this is that the spark arrestor screen in the HMF pipes are real bad about collecting dirt and clogging completely shut. Judging by the picture, it looks as if this may have happened causing the exhaust gases to build pressure and begin expanding the exhaust can and forcing th weakest point to become and exhaust exit.

The winches are basically all built the same. Some are sealed while some are not. Some have metallic gears some have plastic or some sort of polymer.
