It's official...I don't think I'll ever grow up. I'm turning 30 now and I still like the same things I liked as a kid. Trucks, atv's, dirtbikes, motorcycles, pedal bikes (yes I mountain and roadbike). etc.
As a kid I was also into R/C Cars. I had a few of those cheap store bought ones. Then one christmas Santa, stepped up and got me a big gift. A Traxxas Sledgehammer (this was back in 1987-8). That was a fun truck, but limited funds and no license meant was stuck running it my parents yard. They also wouldn't let me build a track (I have no idea why not).
About 4 years ago, I decided to get back into it and step up to a Nitro powered R/C. I was sold! I quickly went all out and bought an HPI Savage 2.5 nitro truck, parts, accesories etc.
Come to find out while it was fun to use, tuning a nitro powered car was pain. I could never it right and had to fiddle with the dang thing more than I did run it. The noise got to be a bit much too. So what did I do...sold it all again. Probably bought tires with the money for my Grizz.
Well, now they have some more cool trucks that are similar to the Savage, but electric. Quiet, easier to operate and waterproof! So I can use it in the winter, through mud, puddles, etc. Not to mention I have a perfect piece of woods to make a little a track out back.
Here's what it looks like.
