It's official...I don't think I'll ever grow up. I'm turning 30 now and I still like the same things I liked as a kid. Trucks, atv's, dirtbikes, motorcycles, pedal bikes (yes I mountain and roadbike). etc.

As a kid I was also into R/C Cars. I had a few of those cheap store bought ones. Then one christmas Santa, stepped up and got me a big gift. A Traxxas Sledgehammer (this was back in 1987-8). That was a fun truck, but limited funds and no license meant was stuck running it my parents yard. They also wouldn't let me build a track (I have no idea why not).

About 4 years ago, I decided to get back into it and step up to a Nitro powered R/C. I was sold! I quickly went all out and bought an HPI Savage 2.5 nitro truck, parts, accesories etc.

Come to find out while it was fun to use, tuning a nitro powered car was pain. I could never it right and had to fiddle with the dang thing more than I did run it. The noise got to be a bit much too. So what did I do...sold it all again. Probably bought tires with the money for my Grizz.

Well, now they have some more cool trucks that are similar to the Savage, but electric. Quiet, easier to operate and waterproof! So I can use it in the winter, through mud, puddles, etc. Not to mention I have a perfect piece of woods to make a little a track out back.

Here's what it looks like.

I have never been involved in these, but always found them very interesting. I had always wanted to experiment with aircraft, but unfortunately she says I have too many other hobbies. I know a fellow here locally who builds mini jet engines . Very intriguing to say the least.

the guy Jason I ride with on the yellow suzuki is into the gas RC cars. He has two. One he claims to have 1700 into. Thing is sick. Runs high 60's on the road. Full cage side draft carb with a huge foam filter. He pulled a donut with it to show mw how easy it is to blow a tire bead. Crazy.

The gas ones absolutely fly...I used to have one. But it was too much work, some are good at it and enjoy it. I hated it, but like driving. You have the perfect place to play around with one at the pit!

Just an update. I didn't go with an E-maxx. after a few weeks of research, I found out they break constantly. Their design just isn't that sturdy. Lots of aluminum aftermarket parts and good amount $$$ and they become durable. They are also having a problem with the new ESC shorting out and going up in flames. Usually taking your batteries with it. The engines are burning out quick too.

So I opted for an HPI E-savage. Electric version of savage I used to own in the picture above. I got it for a steal off of ebay. Got some other parts coming too. I'll post more pics once I get it in!
