Thanks for the replys. If i drill wholes in my air box, how do i keep water out of it?
You might consider these (Click Here). While the review isn't published yet, I can tell you these things are pretty nice. A good value as well. I had two on my grizz 660 and liked them. When it was time to powerwash the grizz, I'd just close them up. The same could apply if you were about to go mudding or cross a respectable water hole or creek. I'm not familiar with the design of your airbox, but it's worth looking into in my opinion. If you do, tell them you heard about them on ATVT.

I don't know what the airbox on a Rancher looks like but EHS racing makes a really nice airbox product. While they don't make one specifically for your rancher, they have a few different universal sizes that you might could make work. Check out this page, in the bottom right corner of the product table for the universal sizes.

If you added a pipe, fuel controller and opened up the airbox with a proudct like the EHS one or the one that Battlegun noted below, you should see some gains in your quad's performance.
