I would love to get a new set of grips for my Outlander and really like the ODI X-treme and Rogue Lock On Grips. I'm not familiar with lock on grips so I have to ask a dumb question. Do both of the metal pieces lock and if when selecting a color for the lock clamp, will this be the color of both the metal pieces on the grip?

(BTW, welcome to the site ODI).

ATVTorture will be reviewing and commenting on the entire Lock-On product line from ODI Grips in the very future. I am running them on my V and absolutely love them.

Hopefully Kevin from ODI can reply with some additional insight.

Battlegun-

Thanks for the welcome! These are actually some great questions and I'm building an FAQ page on the site, so I'll make sure to include them. The metal pieces on each end of the grip, do infact BOTH clamp down adding additional stability and twist resistance. Also, when you order the clamps, all four clamps come the same color. They also include the screws and the Snap caps to cover the exposed bar ends, of course, the snap caps would be left out if you run full wrap hand guards that plug into your bars. Thanks again for your support guys!

p.s. personally I like the Rogue's b/c I like to get muddy when I ride!

Well I'd like to Welcome ODI Grips here as well ... :hello:

And Battlegun, I'm runn'in a set of ODI Clamp-on Rogue grips :icon_thumleft: ... and I've had them on my Grizz for about a year. I can tell ya, I'll never run another type of grip ever !

Yup, they are that good ... but we'll wait for GW's report for riding impressions, etc. :cheer:

But until that report .... ;;s;; ..... if it's warm enough I don't need gloves, I don't wear any, they are THAT comfortable.

Now Kevin may beat me up here :banging: , but the inner portion of the grips have a "Lip" like most grips, but because of the "Inner Clamp" it put that lip out a ways from the throttle. And for me, it was kinda of a reach & my right hand would cramp up real bad :sad2: .... so I trimmed that "Lip" off ..... and like I said, these will be the only brand of grips on my Grizz from here on out .... :notworthy: ;;t;;

Later ....

Thanks for the response Kevin. I think I'll be ordering a set of these soon.

And Gunny, why didn't you just move the throttle body over? Or did I completely miss the concept there? When I put my Spider Grips on the Grizz I found that I needed to move the throttle body some and then again when I added the Power Madd hand guard mounts.

Battlegun ... here's a pic of the grips before I trimmed the "lip" ... :hello:

As you can see, there's no where to move the throttle body ... :dontknow:

I'm not sure what all that jibber was in your post Gunny, but I certianly see your point in the photo.
DANG !!! ... I cleaned it up Battlegun .... but what happened, last nite at home, my internet froze when I was try'in to make this post. :BangHead: So I copied what I had written, pasted it in word ... closed the internet ... came back & pasted it in my reply .... and when I closed it last nite .... none of that jibberish was there :icon_scratch: ....... it was Monday yesterday ... right ?? :dontknow: .... NO ?? ..... Well, it sure felt like it !!! :coffee:

One other thing, if I could have found a longer thumb extension for my throttle, I would added that before the trimming .... AND .... I came "THIS" close to putting a twist throttle on my Grizz ..... I sure like it on my Banshee .... I'm just not sure how it would be overall on a utility bike in technical stuff ?? Guess I could learn how not to kill myself huh !!?? :glasses9::eek:ccasion14:

Well, I gotta say, they are some sharp looking grips. Now, I need to pick a color clamp. Any suggestions? I don't have anything shiny on the quad now. Maybe green or just black?

BTW, how is that throttle extension doing for you Gunny?

CRAP !!! ... I didn't know ya could get the clamps in different colors ... or I would have gotten black ones .... :BangHead:

The thumb extension is great ... I took it off once .... one ride & it went right back on. It would be nice it a guy could get longer ones ... but at the same time, a guy has to be careful with them, because you can snag them with clothes, or accidently hit it when you didn't plan on it ..... I watched my brother go to get off his bike ... snagged that extension ... had his bike in reverse instead of netural or park .... ZOOM ZOOM .... backwards ... right thru an old building  ... and since he didn't get hurt nor the bike ... it was funny as hell !!!! :sign10: .... taught us all a valuable lesson however .... if you stop ... put the bike in netural .... period !!! :icon_salut:
