Hey Guys,
I just joined up and wanted to see if someone out there has done a tire swap on a Kubota. I am looking for more ground clearance, but nothing extreme. We used to race in the mud bogs here in texas but have since kinda mellowed a bit. That is to say, it got expensive to race and we all have families that require more attention. I have the Kubota on factory work site tires, and am looking at 4 options. The MST, a knock off called a Swamp Witch, Executioners, or the kevlar belted Essses sure foot tire are the options. I want to go as big as possible and am a little worried the 27 12x12 will rub the front strut. I think all 4 opts offer a 2710x12 for the frt, so that may not be a prob.
Two questions-
How big (wide) can I go on the front without rubbing the strut?

Is the weight of the Kub going to exceed what will work for the first 3 options. The Kevlar Essex tire is rated for 1100 lbs per tire so not worried about it.

Riding here is widely varried- some rock climbing, more sand and mud in the bottoms, and hard pack in between. I also use the Kub on the job, and conditions vary there as well. Streets, curb jumping, hard pack, mud, etc. We use the Kub to get around.

Thanks and let me know what yall think

What is going on?

I posted a good tire question and some Dude keeps posting cheap ticket post for flights? Whats up? I thought I was getting into a bunch of ATVers, and could ask a question. Who ever Mydaytutt or something like that IS, please stop with the airfare tickets.

Not anymore. He just got banned.

To answer your question about the Kubota tires. I would take a look at the Essex Tire co. They have several models of tires that are built for heavier vehicles. As for height and width, I couldn't tell you since I have very minimal experience with the Kubota.

Please lets us know what you find out as I am interested what would work as well.

ok, here is what Essex said today when I talked to them:
They have 2 tires they recommend for the Kub. The sure foot 26" and the Kevlar Sure foot 27. The 26 is a radial, I think, and it is good without a lift.

I was interested in going as big as possible so they said go with the 27 and you will like th Kevlar belts, and as an added benefit, the are RUN FLAT! She said they will carry the weight of the Kub with a hole in the tire. That may have just made my mind up.

The prices are as follows:
Swamp Witch 27 10s Frt and 27 12 back $420 a set locally, mounted
Kendas 27 10s all the way around $485 ebay incl ship but not mounted
Essex 27 11 x 12 all the way around $600, and I pick up at Essex then mt

The run flat deal is pretty big to me, but $180 is a lot of diference. Especially since she said the will rub under heavy load or on steep down hill and that I really need the 2" lift along with the tires.

I guess I would need the lift ($120) with any of them.

It is a shackel (sp) lift on the rear so no big deal, and the front is a strut spacer on top, so I am guessing it is probably not hard. Just jack up and fit in the tighten up and lower back down.

I am pretty fired up to get this project going, and am going to the beach with the Kub in a couple of weeks so I will keep yall up to date and post some pics once it is finished.

Thank you for the response Griz.

More to come...
