i am posting this for a friend
Has anyone had a problem with your 450 KQ feeling and sounding as if the belt is slipping upon accelerating? We have had mine checked twice and the dealer cannot find any damage to the belt. They have checked with Suzuki for problems and recalls but they haven't any information. The last time we were at H/M Mr. Q thought it was something to do with the clutch. I spoke with the service manager when making my appointment, and Zippy tried explaining this today to the service department. and we were told this 'slipping' is just the way the 450 operates. Evil or Very Mad
It seems the service department in Winchester has seen this on other 450's and owners have corrected the problem with an after market clutch kit. My question is, why should one have to make a purchase in order to correct a problem with a brand new machine? IMO, if this is happening to ALL 450's, then Suzuki should be finding out WHY it is happening. Customers who have paid big $$$$ to purchase a NEW quad in order NOT to have problems with an older machine shouldn't have to spend more money to correct an existing problem. If someone can manufacture an AM kit to solve a 'known' situation with the 450's, then why can't Suzuki solve the problem during manufacturing of the original machine?
We have 'discussed' this matter in depth with the service department and now it seems the cause could be from upgrading the tires.
