I have a KFX700. I have some questions on mods that i installed. I put a hot cam jet kit, pro circuit t4 dual exhaust. I called 4 stroke tech about doing some clutch spring upgrades and he told me that it would not help me at all because the hot cam and my pro circuit exhaust was not any better than stock. Does any body have any suggestions and is it true what he is saying that the stuff that I have installed is no good? Anything will help! Thank you!

That sounds like something FST would say. Don't get me wrong, he does good work when it comes to building engines, I just think Mickey can be a little arrogant.

The jet kit is OK, one thing you need to do is to pull the slides and sand them smooth with 1000 grit and them polish them to a mirror shine. Drill 12 1" holes in the air box lid and block off the intake snorkel to the airbox. Check ebay or your local dealer for a set of 02' prairie velocity stacks to replace the ones currenly installed. Finally get a Twin Air pro filter kit.

As for exhaust, you are only looking at 1-2 HP gain with the Pro-Circuit. The Muzzy seems to be the best exhaust for the V force. I definitely produces the most HP out of all that is available.

Finally, if they will sell you one call UPPracing.com and get a UPP intake for the carbs, you will then need to rejet but you'll notice a huge improvement from that point.

Once you are satisfied with the following you can start plaing with the clutch. A Dalton Blue spring is what gives me the best results.

Thank you for replying. I have already done the holes in the air lid, but those other mods you told me about, like the intake and plug in the snorkel hole and sanding the slide, What will it do for me? Thank you for all the help!

By plugging the snorkel off you get better volumetric efficiency with the 12 hole mod. Polishing the slide simply helps the carburetors slide respond better (better throttle response). The velocity stacks I mentioned allow more air to enter the carburetor and create more velocity and turbulence for better fuel atomization.
