been looking at these tires, but i don't know anyone who has ran them since they are still new.

i'm not sure how i feel about the holeshots that are stock on the renegade. they're a good all-around tire, but for a 6 ply tire, i've had alot of punctures. i'll admit, i ride very aggressively, but i've never had this many issues with any of the last 10-12 sets of tires i've ridden on. the holeshots are definitely lacking when it comes to the mud, but that's only about 10% of my riding terrain. i'd love to see how the bajacross' do in varied environments.

fantastic! could i put in a request to have them weighed before being mounted, and the height/width measured once mounted? i know the mfrs put out numbers, but there seems to be discrepancies sometimes and it would be great to catalog this info from an independent source.

i just got back from "torture-testing" my stealth snorkels. they are great. however, i spent a good 30 min. inflating, plugging and messing with the stock itp holeshots on the renegade. i know they say 6 ply, but they must be using tissue paper or something! i've NEVER had this many sidewall punctures in any tire i've ever owned - and i've only got a little over 300 miles on these. i can tell when i use the "reamer" (before plugging) how weak the sidewalls are. it feels like i'm pushing through a banana peel! also, now it's leaking around the bead - no scuffs or damage near that one, just not sealing. sooooooo, i know i requested the bajacross review, and i know you said you already had something lined up, but i will never purchase another tire from itp. even though the bajas are supposed to be 8 ply - i'm done with them. besides, i looked up their specs, and i don't want to add that much weight at the wheels. maybe some swamplites or something for me. by the way, i'd be more than happy to put some beadlocks through their paces for you guys! :headbang:

That's ITP tires for you. I have a few sets of ITP, one set of XTR's that got plugged withing 30 miles on H&M a few years ago. Stay away from the Terracrosses also. They get poked pretty easily. Even with the "new" compound. Saw one today get poked and puncturerd 3 different times. And they were the "new" harder compound.

Now wait a minute GW, I was on the fence between terra R/Ts and Horns and you recommended I get the Terras. Now you're saying to stay away from them. WTF??

HAH! GW is on the teeter totter again! :seesaw:

From what I've read, the Terra's are supier in the grip department when riding mountians etc. And I've also gathered that the Bighorns were superior to the Terra's in the durability department. I haven't heard ANY negative reports on the the new Terra's OR the new Big Horns.

As far as the Bajacrosses go, I to was looking hard at them. The weight is a definate turn-off though.

These tires do wear on the fast side. I think they hook up really well for general riding though. Seemed to be a fairly smooth ride.

I dont have any places around morgantown yet but back where I come from I have thousands of private land to roam on. Let me know sometime you go as I now have a wheeler again.
