Aight, guys, this is gonna relax right away.

I will lend my very experienced advice and knowledge on online purchases, both as an experienced researched, and web guru.

You can find "deals"on eBay and elsewhere that are so insanely cheap that it is a wonder everyone isn't trying to buy them up. However, when it is much below regular market price, it is because it is a scam.

Most of these sales have tell true signs of being a scam like only excepting money orders or wanting you to do the payment through THEIR order processor.

You have to be careful when making purchases online. If someone only will allow a payment through their money processor and the price is way cheap, steer away. If the price is substantial amount less than the going price, you best stay away. Even with paypal, a person can dispute the charge and without substantial evidence, paypal will award the funds to the person with the best argument or against the person with the proper and undisputable documentation.

So, I say beware on prices that are really low because with those, you WILL get burned. Be warned.

THANK YOU!!! finally... ok.. now there is this one that is londan that is 40 min drive from me... it is a rhino for 4200$ do you think it is stolen??? and how do you tell if it is??
Well to know if that is a reasonable price, I would need to know year, engine size, if it is an EPS model if it is a later version. Aditionally, what kind of mileage?

As for KNOWING that it is not stolen, you could request the serial number from it and call Yamaha and ask them if it has been reported as a stolen one because you are looking to purchase. you can still find scams all of that being done b/c someone could give you a valid serial number and not even have that unit in hand.

I would recommend that you be sure that the seller is a reputable seller with a LOT of positive feedback and that they have no problems you seeing it in person and verifying the serial number. If the serial number plate looks altered, run as fast as you can.

Does that help?

And if it is a only a 40 mile drive, I would drive it and call the serial number into Yammy and verify it with them. Also call a local dealer to that town. I would NOT do this within an earshot of the seller as they would most likely consider you a prick for even thinking they are a dishonest seller. however, an honest person would understand your concern and wouldn't mind you doing so.

Just post back with details about the specs of it and we can go from their on what the pricing is. You can always check ebay for completed auctions to see what ones in the same condition and specs have sold for and use some common sense from there.

Buster
To make this simple, I would take this kind of thought process and line of action on the potential purchase:

See if the person has a home phone and home address they are willing to give you so you can call them and talk and come see the vehicle. If anything seems shady about it, then do your research by calling Yamaha and a local dealer to see if you can verify the serial number that you have seen in person on the Rhino.

If all that checks out, know ahead of time what some recent completed items with the same specs as this one have sold for within a decent range of distance from your location. If you don't know how to do a "completed items" search on ebay, post back and I will give you a link to show the results.

I think if you follow that course of action, you can feel pretty safe that you are getting a legitimate item.

its a 2008 rhino 700FI with 27" tires on 14" rims roof n doors, when you say call yamaha do you mean a dealer? or the actual company,
thanks, yes it does help
I'm not an expert on UTV pricing, but that does sound wicked low. Everything B-Dub has said is right on point. I second his comments.

thanks man for the help, but im pretty sure that rhinos stolen, heres the link

BuySell Classifieds : Southwest Ontario : 2008 YAMAHA RHINO 700 Sport Edition and it is super fast and super nice. It has custom ITP 14" wheels and 27"x14" ITP XTR radial tires. With only 117 hours, it hasn't been used all that much and it was over $ (copy n paste into your browser search bar)

its 2008 sports edition rhino for 4200$... im gonna have to say stolen, but i found a 05, 660 camo at a dealer with 4k KM on it ITP terracross for about 7000$... its not fuel injected but its better then taking a risk on a stolen machine... and sorry for my comments with the second post and stuff i said gunny, was having a bad/tired day im sorry you can delete them if you want
Once agian thanks, and i im allowed to get it, i'll post pictures if thats cool
