I was wondering if anyone had tried the HMF Exhaust on their Renegade? I bought one recently and an aftermarket exhaust is one of the things I would like to add. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If anyone has info on any other brands for the Renegade I would love to hear about them as well. I'm not set on a particular brand. I just want a good exhaust that will perform well and be worth the bucks. I looked at the Ron Wood but it looked pretty expensive. Still, if it performs well enough, then its probably worth it. Thanks

I think your right about product availability. Thats what turned me on to HMF but I'm not set on it. Its just one of the only manufacturers I've been able to find that makes a pipe for the 500. I tried to look up Ron Wood but I can't find anything specifically for the 500. Same at Leo Vince. If anybody knows of other companies making a pipe for the Renegade 500 I'd love to hear about it.

For what it is worth, Rick Cecco, factory rider for can-am, runs an HMF pipe on his race quad as well as his practice quad. According to him, the only differenee in what he runs between the two is sound. He likes to be loud on the track so folks know he's coming and to move over.

The muzzy stuff from what I hear is very nice as is Leo but we've yet to test either on a can-am product. Both companies make a very nice setup for the Renegade as well as the Outlander but we don't have any way at this point to know what kind of power they make.

I was pondering an HMF for the Project-X quad and doing a fuel controller but am just on the fence if I want to go loud or not.

If any of them wanted to do something for both of our Can-Ams, we would probably do something for you guys for a review.

Yeah, I'm still trying to decide what to go with. I found something of interest though. In the last Dirt Wheels I read, I saw an advertisement for Ron Wood where they listed having products for the 500. However, when I looked at the website, it isn't listed. They list it as Renegade 800/500 in the mag, so maybe its the same package and it works for either one? So far HMF is the only one I've found that for sure makes an exhaust for it. I may end up going with it for that reason.

I don't know if this is an idicator but FMF markets the exact same EFI controller for both engines. The one for the Outlander 500 is different though. It has a different part number. I don't know if it makes any difference if the controller is the same though.

They are the same in appearance. The controllers are actually second sourced to a company called Dobeck Performance. Going out on a limb, they are probably the same electronically however the programming is different (which is easily changed).

A Brute Force and Outlander / Renegade are the same other than the connectors that connect to the throttle body.

Hello everybody, I'm glad to be back. I've been gone playing Army for the last little while. Anywho, I contacted Ron Woods and got some information on the exhaust for the Renegade 500. What they said was that it's the exact same kit BUT you have to use the spark arrestor kit on the 500. Since it's the same as the 800 kit, price is identical. The good news is we get to see a test of the whole Ron Woods kit on the Renegade 500 in an upcoming issue of Dirt Wheels magazine. They didn't say what month though.

The only problem about seeing dirt wheels do a review, is I doubt they would come out and say it didn't do much or anything like a real unboased review would. Hmmm.....
