Ride for a Wish

The second annual Ride for a Wish ATV/UTV poker run is taking place Saturday May 8on the Little Coal River Trail System. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Make a Wish Foundation. This will be the second Ride For A Wish event. The inaugural event was held in Sanderson, West Virginia with over 250 registered participants. Thanks to all the great sponsors and participants last year, Ride for a Cause was able give the Charleston Chapter of the Make A Wish Foundation $11,000.00! With that money the organization granted 3 1/2 wishes for local children with life threatening illnesses.

This year Ride for a Cause is partnering with us at HMT, and the goal is to raise $20,000! We hope you will mark your calendar and plan to help us meet this great goal for helping some of our state's most vulnerable kids make their dreams come true. Check out the Hatfield-McCoy events calendar for more details, or you can visit Home.

VISTA Volunteers

After all the bad weather this past winter, Hatfield-McCoy needed a little extra help gearing up for spring. If winter in your neck of the woods was anything like it was in southern West Virginia, then you know what we mean! On March 17, help arrived when VISTA volunteers joined our field crew on the Pinnacle Creek trail system. VISTA is Volunteers in Service to America, and is essentially the domestic version of the Peace Corps. We think we may have worked them harder than the Peace Corps, but when you look at those smiles you can see they loved every minute of the hard labor. We know we really enjoyed working with these young, energetic folks and send them a huge "thank you" for their day of service to HMT.

According to Chief Trail Manager Dave Bailey the Pinnacle Creek system is looking good and ready to ride..so get on over to see us soon! The Pinnacle Trail is up and running, so grab your riding gear and head to the HMT!
