Day 1

Well, today we only got to ride about 30 miles of trails. Weather was absolutely great though. I think the highest the temperature got was 71.

Trails are in great shape. And not too dusty.

As the close of the day we came to a guy who had just rolled his Arctic Cat for the second time that day. :banging: He appeared to be OK, just a little shaken up and a small cut on his hand. Luckily since he wasn't wearing a helmet that was all of his problems.:confused2: The Arctic Cat was not faring very well though.

I posted a few pictures in the gallery.

Day 2

Day 2

Well, day 2 yielded another great day of riding. We ended up mid day in the town of Welch, WV and ate lunch at the Starlite diner. Captjack persisted in giving the waitress there a hard time nearly causing her to quit. :laughing7:

We followed the day up by celebrating Captjack rolling over 2500 miles on his Grizzly 700 and by watching the guys do the hillclimb at the stair steps.

Day 3

We lost 2 members of our group on day 3 due to some family problems.

This gave Captjack, Hebs and myself a chance to just say ell with it and embark on a destination to nowhere. Our goal....To be completely lost by the end of the day. We took on precaution, a Garmin GPS with dead batteries.

We set out exploring some awesome trails. Some steep, and off camber technical stuff. We came across an old log cabin on the side of the mountain. Who knows how old this place even was.

By mid day I decide to have a rectal cranial infarction and try to make my way around a "what looked to be" very deep mud hole. Well the line I took was extremely off camber, and the Grizzly bucked me off good. No damage other that ego and a feeling of what the heck just happened.

Any way here are some images from the days events.

Lemme try to elaborate on this story a little... :) Apparently the Maxxis bighorns and ITP terracrosses melt when they come in contact with muddy water. At least that's what I thought when riding with CJ and G`dub. They went out of their way to drive around every little puddle that they could to the point that Jack would rather take a beating from tree limbs, than drive thru a 1 inch deep puddle... lol. Well G`dub came up to this very spread out mud hole. Parts of it looked pretty tore up and there were several paths to make it look like most people avoided it. Well he decided he was gonna take a route to the left to avoid all of the water in the middle. He drove his grizz down a small decline that immediately went up on the other side. He decided he had taken a bad angle and tried to back up. While all that was happening, I drove thru the 6 inch deep muddy water and stopped on the other side. I knew he was off camber and was trying to jump off my quad and get my camera out of my pocket at the same time... Before I could, he had proceded to put his griz on 2 tires, (the back left and front right) forcing him to bail off to the left. I could see his cartoon eyes thru his reflective goggles as he thought the quad was gonna follow him over. Needless to say it's a good thing he took the Browns to the Superbowl earlier, otherwise we might have had to cut our trip short...

Well I have 2 inch spacers on my bike and I took the over fenders off. The terras went through everything the 589's did on this trip - I just didnt feel like getting soaked every time I went through a puddle.

I am sold on the terras for this type of riding. They took a great deal of beating from the rocks and held up great.
