this seems to be the only aftermarket belt for the can ams that resembles the beefiness of the oem belt. would be great to see someone try it out and give their impressions, both initially and long term. every other aftermarket belt has failed miserably, from what i've read. however, they all (up until this one) have been considerably smaller/thinner in appearance to the oem. there's not a huge difference in price between the EPI severe duty and oem, but availability may make the aftermarket belt popular, if the oem is on backorder.

Not sure about the EPI belt for the Can-Am, but for the Grizzlies, I've read they haven't held up that well. But one always wonders how those machines are being driven. :dontknow:

I'm not say'in an OEM couldn't fail .... but I've just never heard anyone say they've ever had an issue with the OEM belt. And for me, I can get the OEM belt cheaper .... so .... OEM it is. :cheer:

Besides, I'm not sure where you ride, but for me, 35 miles out in the sticks, by myself, is NOT some where I want to be mumbling under my breath ... "Well, that POS belt isn't any freak'in good !" :sad11: .... Savvy ?? ;;t;;

i've heard the same in regards to the standard EPI belt, but they have a heavy duty version and now a severe duty version. i definitely hear ya on the "getting stranded" issue. thinking about picking up a spare to keep with me, cause i ride alone a good bit, also. ideally, i'd run an aftermarket belt and keep the oem that i have now as my backup. just waiting for the money tree to start blooming...

But you are correct, a guy could try one of those belts & carry an OEM as a spare .... shoot, I don't carry a spare now ......... are you say'in I should ?? .... dang, I'm pack'in enough stuff now ........ :sad11:

Dude ... if those rainbow-colored stockinga where at the house .... I doubt I'd need an extra belt ........ not fer the Grizz anyway ........ :icon_thumleft:

So, you gonna get one of these belts & report on it for us ?? Cause even though I may never buy one, I would be interested to know how it held up ........ the belt on the ATV that is ........ :cheer:
