Looks like fun! I'd be worried bout that ice giving in though.
I guess that's the difference of having lived there for years b/c 24" of ice doesn't sound like enough to support a truck to me. I'm not doubting what you say, I'm just saying I'm a big sissy when it comes to taking something that heavy on ice. You know, the stuff I crunch with my teeth.Nahh! They have been driving trucks on it! I drilled a hole in the ice for some fishing and the ice was at least 24''
Em' boys are nuts!Six inches of good ice will support a fullsize pick-up. If you want to see crazy check Ice Road Truckers on discovery. There are winter only roads up north that cross lakes and even ocean bays. These truckers haul 100,000 lb loads across 3' of ice. The "roads" are only open for about six weeks. A few weeks after that Ships use them. NUTS!
couldn't have said it better! i drive trucks for a living, and winters in PA are crazy enough for me, especially pullin' doubles!Em' boys are nuts!
