Sheriff, what brand of GPS mount do you use? I've been looking @ Ram Mounts. I have a Max XT that has a plastic cover over the handlebars and i saw on Rams website a mount that is secured to the bike using the mirror.

I use the handlebar mount Ram mounts for everything, the ones with a u-bolt that goes around the handlebar. I haven't seen one that mounts in the mirror mount but that may be a little high up for my liking.
