North American Imports, LLC, makers of CROSSRUNNER all-terrain vehicles, has joined the Specialty Vehicle Institute of America to further promote the safe and responsible use of ATVs in the United States.

"Each new member company strengthens the industry's commitment to educate riders, and non-riders alike, about the safe and responsible use of ATVs," said Tom Yager, vice president of safety programs for SVIA. "We are encouraged by the example that North American Imports is setting for all new manufacturers and distributors in the U.S. ATV marketplace by supporting the long-standing efforts of SVIA members."

For over 20 years, members of the SVIA have supported free hands-on rider training to all purchasers of new ATVs, created public awareness campaigns of safe ATV use, and supported state legislation that addresses the behaviors present in a majority of ATV-related accidents and fatalities.

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission data show that 92 percent of all ATV-related fatalities are the result of one or more warned-against behaviors. These behaviors include: not wearing a helmet, riding on public roads, carrying a passenger on a single-rider ATV, youth riding unsupervised, riding with no formal ATV training, and riding the wrong size ATV.

"We are proud to be a part of the SVIA team," said Jerry Robinson, Executive Vice President of North American Imports. "We look forward to a long relationship helping to promote ATV rider safety and training for the industry."

"We are confident the CROSSRUNNER lineup and our support team will meet or exceed our customer's expectations in product quality and customer service while maintaining an attractive price," said Robinson. "We are committed to bring safe and exciting recreation to every family member who rides a CROSSRUNNER vehicle."
