HANDLEBAR POLL

I'm looking at replacing my bars and thougt I'd see how many people actually do this mod. At first I was going to post brands in the poll, but there are so many options I decided to keep it simple. Feel free to comment on your set-up.

Oh yeah, I'm considering a Solex, Renthal, Moose, and EVO all in the 1 1/8" diameter.

Re: HANDLEBAR POLL

You'll find that anyone has done this will say that hands down, this is one of the most impressive mods you can make to your quad. Right up there with suspension, on my next quad, I would do bars and risers along with suspension before I did anything else period.

Solex tend to be the most popular but I'm not sure why other than b/c everyone else does them, and love them, most everyone else goes with the same. I'm running Solex myself but had ordered Rnethal fatbars first. Since the Rnethals arrived first, they got installed first. Once the Solex bars came in, I swapped everything out and just stuck with them rather than swapping again. That being said, I could tell no difference in the Renthal and Solex bars in comfort or vibration reduction as they were both identical. I went with a Oury grip which is very cushiony and love the setup. Folks that I know that have stock 660 and 700 bars sit on mine and can't believe the difference. On a long ride, it also severely reduces arm and wrist fatigue and cramping due to the different angle of the CR-HI bend of the aftermarket bars. CR-HI is the preferred bend for our quads by the way in case you didn't know.

I will warn you though that I've read on other forums that people with Grizzly 600's have had cable length issues if trying to go to a 5" riser and have had to use a 3.5" riser. On the 700's, the cable length isn't a problem when using a 5" riser. I personally have not done the mod on a 660 and tried a 5" so it may or may not be a proven problem. It just seems like there was a lot of talk on GC about the cables on a 660 bein' too short to use a 5" riser. Just keep that in mind.

Re: HANDLEBAR POLL

Wow Buster! Thanks for all that G2 (That's military for intel). To be honest, I had considered 3.5" rizers max and will probably go with Rox Risers. Tell you what bro that was good info there, you should throw a review up on those Solex's and I'll go ahead with the Renthals and do the same.

Re: HANDLEBAR POLL

Not sure the price you have for the Renthals but motocrossgiant.com has a pretty good price on the Solex bars. Just call them to see if they have them in stock. They didn't when I ordered but had them shipped out to me within a couple days.

Here's a link to the Sloex page.

Here's a link to their Renthal fatbars page.

You'll see the Solexes are actually a little cheaper.

I was thinking about going ahead with the Renthals just because. I was looking at Dennis Kirk but will look around to ensure I get the best deal. Thanks for the linkage bro. I'll look at them when I get home.

Re: HANDLEBAR POLL

I've got Rox 3.5 risers on my 700. Very happy with the gained comfort. I also went with the fasst flexx bars and after some seat time. I wonder if I really needed them. THey work great and absorb a ton. But I dont think you really see the benefit unless you are jumping or doing a lot of riding standing on the pegs and in an aggressive stance.

Re: HANDLEBAR POLL

Ok...just bit the bullet yesterday and called Rox. I'm getting a 3.5" riser with a Trail Tech X ATV Hi bend. Also ordered some hand guards and grips. (Bar pad & Center piece too). I hope to get it all installed this weekend even though I won't be able to adjust them properly if I don't get my plastics. I'll post some pictures if I get them installed...and I will write a review on the bars.

Re: HANDLEBAR POLL

Well, I just got word it was accidently shipped somewhere else and is now being sent back to somewhere in NJ. Doesn't matter though. I can't ride it hard for nearly a month.

Re: HANDLEBAR POLL

Well that blows. Why can't you ride hard for nearly a month?
