KTM 950 Super Enduro

Thinking about getting one of these as a daily driver to commute to work and back. I've been riding my KTM 530 EXC R to work to save on gas, and have been having so much fun that I want a bike that is a little more powerful on the street, but still able to be ridden in dirt once in a while. I also feel that I should be able to reward myself for all the money I have been saving on gasoline by riding the motorcycle.

Anyway, the bike has 90 Nm / 7000 RPM torque. How many foot pounds is that? And it is rated at 72 kW / 8500 rpm performance. How many horsepower is that?

WOW... That is 97 HP with 66.37 FtLbs of torque.

I think I prematurely ejaculated, or something, because I already told the dealer I would take it. But it wont be here for two weeks. 97 HP! Top speed is supposed to be 140 mph. Wish me luck. I hope I live to tell about it.

Thanks for the picture. That has to be the most bad ass looking bike ever made, LOL. Something tells me I'm going to have to be real careful with this one.

Ok, here's the deal. Apparently KTM made a one time production run of these 950 Super Enduro dirt bikes, and something like 200 of them were made, ... world wide. Some of those 200 bikes got VIN numbers for the 2007 model year, and some got VIN numbers for the 2008 model year. KTM has dropped the 950 Super Enduro for 2009. It will no longer exist, supposedly due to the cost of production being higher than what the market will bear. So the 2007 and 2008 Super Enduros will be very rare motorcycles indeed.

When my dealer ordered mine a week ago there were three of them left for this region of the United States, and thats it. I just talked to the dealer again today, and I'm going to have him put dual Akrapovik exhaust on the bike. That way the dealer can remove the stock exhaust with their catalytic converters, remove the air injection system that goes with the cats, remove the carbon canister, and rejet the carbs before I even pick it up. The exhaust changes will shed somewhere between 12 and 17 lbs that is located way up high, and way away from the center of mass, so it should help some with handling. The extra 7 to 10 hp would not be needed, but, ... oh well, I'll take it I suppose. Can't wait for the bike to get here.
