CV Joint boot replacement
Sorry if this has been covered already but I could not find a thread on it.
I have a torn and twisted rear CV joint rubber boot (I think that is what it's called!). I had an ice jamb between the axle and the skid plate on the right rear wheel and it did a number on the rubber cover.
What is involved in replacing this part? Does anyone know where I can order the part?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
PS: I can attach a picture if necessary

It's pretty easy to replace. You will need a crimp tool for the ring clamp. At least I think it's easier with the tool. You'll need to pull the hub and maybe axle too. It takes about 3 hours to do.
Here is a video.

Morning BruteForce Dude
I had to change a CV boot a while back on my Grizzly & did a writeup. Here's a link to it from a sister forum to ATV Torture. Take a look at it. Hopefully it'll give ya hint of what is required to change the boot.

Here's a link to a YouTuber video that may give ya ideas & helpful hints as well. I viewed it before I did mine.
And here's a couple links you can get parts from. Hope that second link works, I couldn't get it to open here at work.
American CV: ATVs, UTV Parts- Polaris, Axles, CV Joints and more
ATV CV Joint - ATV Aftermarket Parts | CV Restoration
Also, here's a little insider advice .... after tearing my axle apart, changing the CV joint & spindle, replacing both boots & putting the axle back in ..... if I had to do it again, I would just buy a complete replacement axle .... pop out the old one, pop in the new one & yer done.
The reason I say this, I thought my axle was in good shape until I started cleaning everything .... and that alone is a royal pain. For what I spent on parts, for another $50 I could of bought the complete axle.
Well, hope this helps ya out dude !!!! Godd Luck !!

Wow. You guys are starting to think and act alike.... is that scary??
Seriously though, thanks a lot guys, I could not seem to find anything on it. I dropped by my local Kawie shop and, of course, I could not remember the exact model number of my bike so they could not sell me a boot (!?!). I guess I made the assumption that year and model would have done it! (KVF-650F for the record).
Anyway I will get the parts tomorrow, should be able to get at it by the weekend. I dropped by my buddy's shop tonight and he was knee deep in a 500 Suzuki that needed some work....
I will be sure to report back.
Jay
