Revenge is sweet!

Went riding today and raced against my old Grizzly which has beat me 8-10 times. I had dropped the idle down some so my launches wouldn't be so explosive so I could control them. I only lost 2 times due to power wheelies and some of the other races weren't very close. One race was neck and neck but ended up a win by 1/2 bike length. Couple races where I hooked up was maybe 3 bike lengths and what makes me happy is that Grizzly always beat me as bad or worse than my buddies 09 Outty 800(I did won one race against the Outty). I still don't have the hp that Grizzly or Outty has but the Copperhead has really helped my low end tremendously by taking away the performance limiter and then adding 6hp so I get a good jump. Mid range has been helped some and top end gained 5hp on the very top but doesn't help to much in our 150 yard drag since I still have less hp than either one of them.

Great analogy Gunny. But I must say, I still have my old Grizz with pics and mods in my garage. So, I guess I can't say too much to Bull for his sig.

I still have pics of my Grizz up too. And gunny, the difference in a quad and woman is profound. You can ride your quad hard for 10 minutes or 10 hours and it won't complain, get sore, or leave you for another. Your quad won't care if you have pictures of other quads hanging up in the garage. And you quad will never care if you ride another quad. So I don't think your anology was good. Sorry.

Man....Yamaha is gettin an arse whoopin'....a brute with a few small mods killin a grizzly with major engine mods....pretty pathetic Yamaha!!

I have decided to get a used brute. I wanted a KFX 700 but 4x4 is worth it. So thinkin bout pickin up a used one in a year or so.

Gonna set it up like this...except big horns of course :P

Battlegun ... I feel yer anology sucks too .... cause from what I read on forums ...... sometimes a quad will just up and say, "Not now, Not today, Not this week even !" ...... Right ?? ....

Oh well .... I got some action outta the comment ...... my job is done here ......

Thanks Gunny! I hear ya! I would add my old Foreman 450ES in my previous sig just for you but that may take away some of my credibility if I had any! Lol!

I'm an idiot! I just figured out why my launches were so controllable! I couldn't believe dropping back to 1500rpm from 1600rpm would make that much difference and it didn't! As you know I was one of the beta testers and so I have many different maps and firmware. Well each Copperhead has 2 different maps you can use with just a flip of the switch. During testing one was for 87 octane and the other was for 91 octane some were testing with. Well after the race with the Outty 800 I installed the maps that was for 87 only since thats all I use. Position 1 has all the limiters enabled for inexperienced riders and position 2 has all the limiters disabled for full power. I was running in position 1 so my low end limiter allowed me to launch but not with full power! I did notice the limiter on takeoff but jsut thought it was the drop in rpm's. That won't happen again.
