650i cdi modules?
is the dynatek cdi modules for the 650i worth it? just wondering if the timming adjustments and what not is worth it. i am going to get a exhaust, penland, lrd, or muzzy. like them all the same soon as i see a deal i will grap one. But i was looking at modules and is it worth it? is thier power gains with a new air filter, exhaust and module?? and if so what do yall recommend chip wise?

Go with the Velocity Devices Copperhead unit as an all-in-one fuel controller and CDI that is completely tunable if you buy the USB interface. Your options are endless with it. Read our review of it for the Grizzly 700 to see what it is capable of doing.
It's more money than the Dynatek but it is a fuel controller and cdi all in one so it's less money in the end and a LOT more tunable than your basic fuel controller.

Buster is on point I believe. But I too understand the money being a lil high. If you open the airbox some and use a good performance filter, add a free flowing exhaust (both those you mentioned are good), and add a fuel controler (if you go with HMF you might try to get a package deal), you should end up with a some seat of the pants gain. Now if you follow those guys lead who are jacking up their quads and mudding. YOu may consider some clutch mods to make up the difference of larger after market tires.
Let us know if you get something. We love pictures of quads!
Welcome and good luck.

The Dyna CDI offers two improvements that will help your bike. They advanced the timing curve and took away the pesky retard at 6500 and over RPM's. So now you have the flat timing clear through the power band so to speak. It increases the timing to a safe 5 deg.
It also removed the reverse rev limit and the belt switch. Basically from what experience I have with the 650, I think it gives it a slight timing configuration like the V Force. So, it should launch like a rocket. Get a twin air power filter and at nice flowing exhaust like and HMF if you are on a budget (things will get noisier) otherwise go with the Muzzy as it will produce the most amount of ponies, if it's carbureted, you will need to re-jet. Stay away from the Dynojet kit, it is crap. Get you some Kehin jets, and 2 number 4 washers to shim the needles. Once that is done go and polish the slides to a mirror finish and shorten the springs about 1 notch. You will see a tremendous gain in throttle response, and will have trouble keeping the front end on the ground. Get with Eric at EHS Racing for one of his airbox lids. Expect to see 5-8 HP increase, and way better throttle response with the aforementioned ingredients.
The next step you definitely need to consider is a clutch kit.
Good luck.

Wow
Thanks for the info. thats impressive. yeah i like the Dyna CDI, and i already have a twin air filter which is nice. Once i get the exhaust and jet kit in a week ill let yall know. do you guys have any instructions by chance for the jetting process. Not new to 4wheeling but im new to decking out a 4wheeler. Have a 300kingquad and 450 fourman so not to much reason to spend big money on those. hahah fun to cruise but not ride hard. if yall have any instructions that i could print off or a video or anything on the jetting and what not i would apreciate that. thank you

lid
Get with Eric at EHS Racing for one of his airbox lids. I looked at the lid just wondering how it does with adverse trails? im talking dusty, creek crossing. is this a pure speed airlid and a stay away from water/ mudholes like a cat thing. i mean im not a mudder im a trail rider and speed freek, but will hit a mud hole eveyonce and awhile. can you do one witht that airlid??

The jetting is very simple. Getting to everything is the issue. Just takes a little extra time and patience. The lid will do fine in the water. Your snorkel will take on water before the lid itself has an issue. You ride the same are as I do, H&M and Wagon wheel and I have a few vehicles with the EHS lid. Top quality, no issues. Get the aluminum cover for it. We reviewed it in our reviews section.
As for the filter, do you have the the Power Filter? it is about 100 bucks and lets much more air in than the standard air filter setup.
Another thing you can do is go and get the velocity stacks from a 2002 prairie. They are taller and wider allowing more air at a higher velocity enter the carburetor venturi. wel worth the mod for a few extra bucks.
Everything helps!
