Arrow Carb Problems

Well I don't know what to say. I have a problem with my BF 750 back firing at idle and low speed, but at higher speed or choked it does not back fire. Also when backing off the throtle it tends to back fire. Could the carbs be gummed up? Need some advice on trying to solve this problem.

When was the last time you changed plugs? It sounds like the carb problems, but if it is a newer bike then that would be somewhat unlikely. Have you done ant modifications to anything prior to this problem occurring?

Curious as to what engine mods you might have installed. This gives us a better idea of what you're working with.

A few questions....
  • Have you checked the plugs?
  • Have you cleaned the air filter?
  • Have you checked the exhaust flow i.e. cleaned the spark arrestor.
  • Do you mud the vehicle?

It sounds like a lean condition check fuel filter if there is one and check the vent for the fuel tank and make sure its not obstructed.

I agree with Heritage. It sounds lean. With no mods I would go straight for the carb.

I'm wondering if pulling the bowl wouldn't reveal any dirty fuel? Perhaps pulling the main jet and giving a it good cleaning may be in order? Of course if the main is dirty the rest are probably hurtin too.

Look at:
-Spark Plug
-Fuel Filter(s)
-Fuel
-Jets

Just my $.2
