La Guard Dog

Well I have had mine since Dec. 07 and I have used it on my 07 Eiger and my 07 Grizz 700. It has to be the fastest and most secure way to lock down a quad in a truck. The company also offers a La trailer dog for those who carry their quads on a trailer. For under $200.00 and no more straps to break or come loose and the peace of mind knowing that I can go into a store or long road trip and it isn't going anywhere. I bought locks for the tounge and bar, so without the key it will stay right where I put it. An added plus is that once locked on my ramps can't slip out or be taken out.

Now on mine I bought a mad Dog three way hitch to get it off the tailgate alittle.

Now having it sit on the tailgate is not that bad because once it locked down the tailgate doesn't bounce. On mine and the newer ones they have a tension nut (it comes with a wrench) that once it is tightened the base piece becomes part of the truck and makes it very sturdy.

Thanks Jason. I'd like to see them ad a flat platform for the ramp like my Ramp Rite and I'd be all over that product. I actually thought the Grizz would fit with the tailgate closed in the Gen1 Tundras.

Koko the guard dog company has what they call a rack and ramp. it is a carrier that fits on the back of la guard dog and when you pull a couple of pins the rack (it holds a couple hundred pounds) turns into a set of ramps with guides. Yes it will fit in my tundra but I would have to go through the hassle of tying it down and anyboby could just open the tailgate. With it being away from the cab i can store stuff in front of it ....gas cans, ice chest and whatever. Yes it is a 4 door but wet muddy clothes go in the back and I don't have to try and find a place for them. Also if you had a tool box you would still me able to load your quad. The strange thing is my 07 eiger would not fit.

Makes complete sense! Appreciate the great pictures. I have a 5.5 foot bed F150. There's no way I'm closing the gate!

I have been thinking about making one or modify one to work on a trailer. The trailer that I have, side loads the front atv. Im thinking it would be real slick yo back it up the ramp and pin it in place instead of strapping it down.

hmmmmm i need a piece of scratch paper now ..............................

Captjack if you go to their website they have them for trailers I don't have one but they look very similar.

Couple questions about this.

Do you still tie down the front of the quad with this on.


Can you extend it out enough so the quad is not sitting on the tailgate?

I do not tie my front end down and it stays put and you would have to make a longer piece to get it to set on the bed instead of the tailgate. I was weary of this at first but I have driven thousands of miles using this setup with zero problems.
