Good Tires?

Hey, I have a 09 outlander 800 I was wondering what tire would be good for mud but not to rough for pack trails. What size? can i fit them on the stock rims?
Thank for any advise

I think the Zilla's also have a radial version too! Either way the Zilla is worth a look see. The Mud Bugs are another option but they are on the heavy side.

You should be able to put either on your stock rims.

my back tires are 26x10 R12. the 12 is the rim size right? so that has to be the same? but what about the other number what are they?

Sorry for the delayed response...work had me too busy to even think about anything else.

26= height / 10= width / 12= rim size

Honestly you can stand to go wider on the front but you will gain a bit of resistance while turning especially at the lower speeds. If you had EPS this would be absorbed and not noticed (I think).

I don't "think" so....not if you only go 1 size wider. It's been so long, without researching what I've done in the past I can't say for sure. I know I went wider in the front when I had my bugs, but I also got new rims at the same time. Tell you what to do. Call Mike at Dick's ATV and ask him what you can do as far sizing. Mike is a resident expert with tires and he has really good deals on tires too (hard to beat deals). It's Dick's ATV : The best deals on ATV Tires, Parts and Accessories

I went from a Grizzly 700 to my Rene 800. On the Grizz, I ran 26x12 mudlite XTRs and then 26x14 GBC Dirt Commanders.

On the Rene, I am running ITP Terra XDs, 25x12. The Terra and the GBCs are similar in tread design. I love things about both tires. However, after a lot of miles in different terrains, I will probably go back to XTRs the next time. They are radials, perform and hold up well and never get stuck in anything.

On the Grizzly, my GBC tires were 14" rather than 12" but my other sets have been 12" wheel diameter. My next set will be a 26x14 again. I love the handling of the tires on a 14" wheel and the fact that there is less sidewall play to make the maneuver faster in turns.

Just my thoughts for ya.

Buster

Just My Professional Opinion HAHA

I bought my 09 Renegade when there was still three to four feet of snow out on all the mountains and long dirt straits. I was amazed at how well the stockies worked in snow. Looking at the rear tires I noticed the tread seams backward comparing them to a digger tire with the v of the tread headed forward. These tires work like a snowmobile track riding on top of the snow. I got cocky with my incredable new machine and rode of the beaten track into the deep stuff. I noticed if i started to sink down just give it more throttle and it would ride right on top of the snow. I tried different tire combos but the stockies impressed me the most.

You're reffering to the ITP Holeshots right? I've heard several experienced riders saying how much they enjoy those tires.
