Outlander vs Renegade...

Hey guys. I'm looking at getting a new atv, but I can't decide between the outlander or the renegade. I was wondering if some of you guys could chime in and lend some insight to my delemma,

I will be looking at the 800's. For the new 2010's, is there a power difference between the 'Gade 800X XC or the Outlander? Everything I've read up on, I can't recall seeing a difference (I'm probably wrong).

As for riding/use of the quad...the fiance gets a little queezy with extended exposure to exhaust fumes. Sooo, in the long run, I don't think I have to worry about having a passenger. I doubt they make a backseat for the Gade. Getting past the backseat question...what about utility use. Obviously the Outlander is the utility quad of the two, but I'm not going to be using it to do any heavy work. Just using it to drag a trailer around the yard with some logs, or just moving my boat around a short ways. But what about snow plowing. I live up in the northern midwest...and I hate shoveling my driveway. Do they make plows for the Renegade? Are they similar to plows for the Outlander? As for trail riding, I don't do anything crazy. Either quad I get, I am going to have to do the snorkel mods due to some of the mud puddles(or swamps) that we hit. I don't do really any rock climbing. And the trail riding is...well, trial riding. Nothing to stressfull. For those of you who have had the pleasure of riding both atv's. Which one is more comfortable for long hauls. Does one take more work to use than the other?

I don;t know if I have any other questions...I just wish I could find a comparison between the two. I really like them both but I just can't decide. HELP ME OUT GUYS!!! If you have any questions, PLEASE ask!

Thanks for the help!

Getting sick from exhaust fumes! That would suck.

I have been on a Gade but only in a parking lot and that was a couple years ago. So I can't really give you the comparison you seek. However, I can tell you a lil bit about the Outlander. You also must remember that I'm going to be refering to a 2009 model.

The Outlander is def. a fun quad to ride. However, it tends to work you when you're deep in the throttle. I would imagine this is the case with Gade too, but can't speak from experience. If the only utility you will be doing is pulling trailers and such, the decision would be simple for me. Get the Gade. As far as plowing, there shouldn't be any real big differences in the frames so what works on the Outlander, "might" work on the Gade

Power difference between the two is based on weight mostly and maybe some different clutching. The Gade is lighter than the Outlander (I think) and "might" have some clutching differences. I say this because Dalton offers up two different kits. One for each quad. Personally, after having the pleasure of testing one, I wouldn't own the Outlander without a Dalton clutch kit. Simple as that. Hopefully we will get the chance to test one for the Gade too.

You are very correct in the snorkeling. The Outlanders and the Gades venting isn't the best.

I don't think you'll find a 2up seat for the Gade, but you can get a small rack for the rear. Just about the right size for a cooler.

I've probably created a whole new list of questions for you but hopefully I've helped a lil bit. Now we need to get some of those Gade riders to post their thoughts.

Hey it sounds like you should probaly go with the outlander, since i dought you can put a plow on a renegade lol, and you can use it for all your utility needs and, from what ive heard the outlander is awesome trail quad and from the videos ive seen the oulander does great in swamps, thats jsut my opinion good luck

I don't see why it couldn't be done. They have the same frame.

I couldn't have said it any better than Battlegun.

I myself would lean toward the utility. I wanted a Gade very bad for a while; however I began looking at the types of riding I do and areas I go into where a utility was just more suitable. Among other factors I decided to pass unknowingly that a few months later I would be considering a SxS.

Having said that, By what you are describing you would fit better with the Outy, the Gade is great, but is is just as much flash as it is fast. I think you will find yourself enjoying the Ute just as much.

I've seen a snow plow on a Gade. Someone posted a picture on one of the forums that draw a lot of Can Am ATVers, either ATV Frontier or Can Am Headquarters. It was just a store bought plow and mount, nothing the owner had to fab up. So someone makes one, not sure who though.

The Gade can do anything the Outy can, except carry anything on a front rack. There is a Can Am rear rack, and PRM Manufacturing makes a rear rack for the Gade. The Gade has significantly stiffer suspension than the Outy, so it corners flatter at speed, and it jumps better. But it beats you up more at slow speed in the rocks. Both ATVs are going to be more than enough fun.
