Well, if nothing else, you should get alot of hits on this thread!!!! You got my attention! in reference to your 4 wheeler!, I'd say it depends on the type of riding you do and how often you ride. I'd personally do it once a quarter or every 6 mo. JMO not a professional by any means.

NIPPLES ?? ... .... WHERE ?? ... I like Nipples !!!
Wait ... let me re-read what you wrote ........... Bast%$# !!!! ........ Yer talk'in about freak'in bikes ??
OK, ABOUT yer question ... I don't have a Can-Am, but any good quality automotive, waterproof grease should work. Personally, on my Grizz I use Amsoil waterproof grease.
And I grease mine a little more often than Maxmud does ... but at the very least, I'd check to see what the owners manual recommends ... and more time in water or mud ... more grease
Dang ... I liked it better when ya was talk'in about nipples ??
Later ....

We need to see some pictures of the nipples!
Actually I grease my Zerk fittings before every other riding trip, or about 5 times a year or every 200 miles. If I am in a lot of water, then I do it after I return home and wash the quad. It only takes me 5 minutes, I use the Amsoil WP marine grease.

Personally I grease mine's nipples everytime I ride her. I know some folks don't do it that often, but I am a firm believer that they can't have enough lube. To think that some folks NEVER grease 'em up is just insane. They don't know how much longer she'll last with proper maintenance. Now don't get me wrong, sometimes I don't have to use as much as the time before as it all depends on how long that previous ride was, but I try to keep 'em as greased up as possible.
Mine can never say I have left any part unattended to.

The Grizzly 700 owners manual recommends the following:
Grease (Nipples) every 1600 miles, or every 160 hours.
Use Lithium soap based grease.
There you have it! Now, I don't wait that long, but your owners mannual will give you your bikes suggested interval. I do it when I remember I haven't done it in a while! (more than the book recommends, less than some people) So pick your poison and inject away.

i believe you're looking at the bleeders on the calipers. don't try to put your grease gun on them! i grease my zerk fittings every couple hundred miles. don't have the outlander, but you should have zerk fittings on the a-arms and driveshafts. maybe battlegun will chime in if there are any additional fittings, since he also has an outlander.
