Extreme Performance chips

Hey there, in my search for performance mods for my Renegade 500 I found some perfomance chips for sale on EBAY. The company is Extreme Performance and the chips are going for $28. They are claiming a 30HP gain and 40FTLB of torque. Anyone have experience with these? It seems to good to be true but they had really good marks for customer satisfaction. What are your thoughts?

While I have no experience with the chips on ebay, I would definitely keep away from them. 30 HP is quite a gain to get even if you were to increase the engine displacement.

Stick with the basics, fuel and air.

Thats what I'm thinking too. A few HP I could see, but 30? I can just see too many things going wrong even if it was good for the power. I was just hoping somebody had some experience with them and could tell me whether they were worthwhile. Pretty low price too for such a gain.

I am only speculating, but I bet you would be lucky to even gain 1 HP. I have heard that some of these voodoo gadgets they manufacture for cars, actually lost HP and MPG.

I called one of these companies about a year ago, told them I was with ATVT and was reviewing it, the conversation went very sour from that point. Needless to say, we never got the opportunity to finish the conversation due to him having issues with his phone service I guess.
