Frogskins

This may be a dumb question. Why can't you just put frogskins over the end of the intake holes?

I don't think there would be enough surface for the adhesive stuff to stick to. But that is an interesting concept. You got my lil braincells all worked up now.

Stray, any reason for not putting all 3 holes in the top? Just curious why the one was on the curved portion of the lid.

I am considering doing this mod, just waiting on your final verdict on your plugs. I may drill the holes slightly smaller to compensate if you still think you are running lean. By making one hole 1.25 inches vs 1.5, it makes the "true" total area 3.31 square inches (using your math and compensating for the 30 pct restriction using your formula).

I can only speculate. But according to Stray's findings I would do just what you said, assuming everything else is the same on your quad. Perhaps the smaller hole would eliminate the need to have it off the flat surface. I can't see the pictures here at work to refresh my memory.

You are right and this is why a LOT of folks immediately snorkel their Renegades when they get them. It will be interesting to see if they changed that location on the 2012 1000 Renegade if mine finally arrives.

All that being said, I think my airbox snorkel is 1 1/2" and the 2 CVT snorkels are 1 1/4". I can look tonight and confirm that if you like.
