Stray, awesome post, pics. n' all! I have yet to snorkel anything on my gade but am on the look out for stealth diy kits. yours looks pretty nice compared to others I've seen. Thanks for the great pictures, I will be following suit, What I really want to know is what you did with your CVT intake and fuel breather, as I'm stuck waiting with my tank hanging out of the gade and don't want to have to deal with this again!!! Also do you know if I can just get a fuel filter from an auto store, or is it a high flow/efficency? Do you know? Once again, thanks for the in depth post and pics. that correspond to all points.

i'm not sure about the fuel filter. if it were me, i'd probably get an oem filter from the dealer. as for the fuel breather and overflow, i disconnected the T fitting and ran an extension up into the gauge pod, then reconnected the T, letting the overflow hang down towards the front diff and kept the breather up high. also ran the tranny breather up to the same location. since i blocked off the stock air inlet to the airbox, i left the pcv breather in it's stock location. hope this helps, feel free to hit me up with any other questions and i'll do my best to help you out!

Alright so I am planning on giving this snorkel setup a try tomorrow.. Couple things... First, the 90 degree rubber elbows that you bought, are they readily available in the plumbing section of any hardware store? I am not familiar with them. Second, the flexible hose you used, did it have any other general purpose so I have an idea where I can find it? I live in Canada so we don't have a lowes here, which means I'll have to shop around a bit tomorrow..
Lastly, did you cement/silicone the whole snorkel together apart from the machine, and then slide it into place afterward or did you cement one piece in at a time to connect the whole system? These might be novice questions, but I'll admit I'm very new to snorkelling/plumbing....

the 90s are readily available in plumbing. the hose is either spa hose or shop vac.all availible at home depot if you have that. put it all together mark all separate ends with a line to assure it fits right, then cement that baby. i would fit it once or twice to assure its where it needs to be before you cement it. i would also buy a few extra parts and pieces just in case, so your not running around all day. i used a few things i dident think i would need, then take back what you dont use.

Alright good to know. What did you end up paying for the rubber elbows? the one place I found them online has them listed at 22 bucks each...so about 15-16 bucks american. Does that seem about right? Also, just so I understand you correctly, are you cementing the entire snorkel together THEN mounting it? or are you cementing it into place piece by piece after you've checked and rechecked the position? I'd like to know the order I put it in so I don't mess it up.

elbows were in the 7 to 8 dollar range. yes i monted mine all as one piece. also keep all the old parts and pieces you cut, do not throw them away. i have reworked mine a few times to make it better little here little there. as time passes and you see others you may want to change it up.

yeah, the rubber 90's will be in with all of the other ABS fittings, around $7 each. i'm not sure about the specific use for the 2" flexible hose i bought. it's clear, seems like it's double wall, about 1/4" thick with a string or wire criss-crossing between the two walls. lowes had a bunch of different types and sizes, probably any place that sells building materials will have a decent selection. i didn't glue the whole assembly together outside the bike, then put it in. not sure how 25th ID was able to accomplish that. on the cvt intake, i glued all of the hard ABS pieces except the uppermost elbow first. then installed the glued pieces, siliconing the rubber pieces to the stock cvt inlet and finally, glued the uppermost elbow in the direction that i wanted it to face. for the cvt exhaust, i glued the final short piece of flexible hose into the ABS 90, then worked backwards. it takes sometime to get it so it doesn't interfere with the shifter linkage. patience is a virtue...

Well after half a day of thorough shopping around, I was not able to find any braided vinyl tubing with a 2" inside diameter(I did find some with 2" outside diameter though... but I didn't get it). I also could not find any place that carried 2" rubber elbows. I went to all the top places in town that were open and they didn't carry it. My last options are two wholesale suppliers of plumbing equipment which aren't open until Monday. I hate the Canadian plumbing supply market.
