I'll be looking into this too. I'm having trouble wording my part 3 review so as not to bash the CVT of the Outlander. I hope I don't have to work around something else too!

First the frame, then the CVT, then the stator. Why do people buy these machines for such an ungodly price? Will I end up regretting this purchase for the rest of my days? Naaaaah. I'm a tinkerer. More importantly, I know the limits of my machine and my own personal limits. That is key.

As far as the other sites go. I have had a hard time letting the link-back to awf go in the shifter thread. I want to keep it cause it's a decent deal on a seemingly impossible grease. But I'm not much on that sight for the same reasons listed above. If I'm going to allow link backs or cross linking it's going to be with a site that would allow the same thing and more importantly has a welcoming bunch of folks. If awf represents the Can-Am crowd, then I don't want to know them. I think I've made up my mind. The link back is going down. No offense Stray I can not personally thank you enough for your insight to several issues here on ATVT.

I can't say as though I would buy a machine with those issues. For how hard we ride and being a big guy i see that frame curling up like a pretzel. Of course you wont regret it....you bought it....your going to be product loyal and hopefully happy with your product. Which is really all that matters.

Shut up Mack! Buster must realize that by not owning a Yamaha or Kawie that he is on an inferior machine and must recycle it! I just so happen to have a recycling facility next door to me and would be happy to help a buddy out. We all make mistakes now and then, this is what friends are for.

Buster, don't listen to Mack! My offer still stands.

Buster, after listening to your findings I must admit that it sounds as if the altenator could be rebuilt to work right, or at least our version of right. If you wikipedia altenator and stator, you will get a mindful of possible fixes. I will admit, I'm not an electrician, but it seems to me to this problem can be resolved and prolly for less money than most people realize. I don't know yet though, this is merely speculation. Shoot, I haven't even verified that I have this issue and I'm trying to fix it!

Yeah, there's a compamy that rewinds the stators on the Gades that we're working with trying to get something done. That's if "someone" doesn't drop the ball and not contact them.

Interesting. Keep us posted. I haven't had enough time to read and find out about the details of a stator.
