i've noticed that in a few videos on youtube that used the go-pro setup. pretty sure you could use some type of foam or fabric to address the audio problems. the price is right on that model, i just don't like the bulkiness, if it were helmet mounted. it wouldn't be an issue if it were mounted to the bike somewhere. either way, i'd love to test one out for a weekend to decide if i liked it or not.

do you think there's enough interest in this section for me to document my snorkel install? i'd be happy to do it if it would help other can am owners, but if there aren't any other outlander/renegade riders i'd rather not waste my time with pics and documentation.

Yeah you're probably right about the foam for muffling audio. If you haven't seen 'em yet, check out Gunny's thread here for a quad mounted go-pro. It's amazing. He sent me a link to his footage with the epic mounted on his helmet and the same footage from the go-pro mounted on his chest and to me the go-pro was much better looking video. I prefer the stable mount on the quad so it doesn't bounce with your head as you're moving.

As for the snorkel, I would like you to do that if you don't mind. Battlegun has an outty, I have an 09-X and we have another 09 Gade about to be part of our own. With Project-X underway, hopefully we will attract more can-am owners and the more technical write-ups like you are talking about doing, the more it will help. I would like to see it myself, especially if you're talking about doing some kinda stealth snorkel as I would like to do that on my own. Just be sure to take as many well lit pics as you can along the way to help folks understand how to do each part of the install.

Great idea Stray!

ok, will do. yes, stealth all the way! don't want anything sticking up out of the plastic. i don't do alot of deep stuff, but the factory location for the intakes and cvt exhaust suck. i had my cvt cover off to clean up & lube the one way behind the primary clutch and i could see where i had gotten some water inside already. btw, has your shifter gotten "hard" to shift? mine got to the point where i had to rock the quad to shift it. got a great mod for that problem, if anyone is experiencing it. took a little while to develop, so if you don't have much time on yours, it may not be happening to you.

Stray, count me in! I'm def. interested in your snorkel documentation. And yes...if you have a solution for the hard shifting, I'll hunt you down and force feed you beer for an entire day. Seriously...I've had that issue out of the box with my 09 and even the 07 I test drove was this way. What a pain in the arse it is! PLEASE tell me what to do about that!

yeah I'm with you. I don't want to put holes in my plastic either as it just junks up the look to me. however, the stock breathers need help in being higher up for those that hit water.

I don't have a real problem with the shifting yet but occassionally do have to rock it to get it to shift. Otherwise, it's pretty smooth. If you have a mod for it, I encourage you to write it up and a again, pictures are worth 1,000 words.
