We are replacing our 2007 Grizzly 700 with a new ATV this year. There is nothing "wrong" with it, we just like to keep the ATVs replaced every two or three years. It took me a while to find the ATV I wanted, but in the end I really think it was dealer service that made me pick the ATV.
Our local Yamaha and Kawasaki dealership sold out last year just before the bottom fell out of the OHV market (good timing on their part). They were purchased by the local Can Am dealership, which now sells all three brands. Unfortunately the new owners are incredibly hard to deal with. The people that work there all seem to have an attitude, acting like they are doing you a huge favor to take your money. I have tried several times to buy an ATV there in the last two years, and have had problems each time. Don't even plan on a call back, or other common curtosy. Do plan on being told there are additional fees on everything, such as $488 dealer set-up, $500 freight charges, etc, etc, etc. When it came time to replace my current Can Am with a new one I got price quotes from the local dealership and two other dealerships. The local dealer gave me the lowest amount for a trade in, and wanted $14,700 for a new Can Am Renegade. Seriously, $14,700. That made the local dealers price $3600 more than either of the other dealers. I ordered a new Renegade from one of the other dealers.
The local Honda dealership is just as bad.
That left Polaris, Arctic Cat, or go out of town to purchase again.
I went down to the Arctic Cat dealership and they had a Thundercat 1000 set aside as a demo ATV. Can you believe it, at 1000cc 4x4 as a demo model?
I liked the Thundercat enough to buy one. They still need to take it out of the crate and put it together, and install the winch. I told them I would pick it up on Friday. The impressive part about the whole deal to me was the customer service at this Arctic Cat dealership. No extra fees, no BS about pricing, no BS about anything. I asked for a price and he gave me an OTD price that was $1300 off, and included a winch. maybe not the all time best price, but certainly a fair price. Finally, a good dealer. We'll have to see, maybe there will be more Arctic Cats in my garage one of these days.
The dealer is D&P Performance, in Cedar City, Utah, by the way.

That's great news 3TV! Finally maybe we can get a non-baised report on the Thunder Cat.
On another note, it's just plain sad that customer service picked your quad for you. I truly respect your attitude toward those dealers. Nothing burns my arse worse than a merchant who acts like they are doing me a favor. OMG that makes me mad. Great job keeping your money local and still not giving in to those people. Besides, I've heard many great things about Arctic Cat. I hope it works out for you.

That's cool Phil. My daughter sits in them every time we go to bass pro shops and they look nice. I can't wait to see pictures of yours. I'm sure it will be decked out in some way before long.
I stopped by the dealer today to check out the Thundercat. They had it put together with the winch installed, and that is one beautiful ATV if you ask me. The winch mounts way up high and out of the way, and looks great.
Still no pictures, sorry.
I did not have time to pick up the Thundercat today because right after work I had to get to the next town 50 miles away to help a magazine editor friend of mine do a photo shoot on a Polaris Rzr S. Polaris gave him the Rzr S to use for a loaner vehicle until he gets the story written. He needed someone to drive the Rzr S while he shot the photos, so of course, I volunteered for that right away. All went well on the photo shoot until I got the Rzr S stuck in the sand dunes. Oops! We got it back out though.
