OK, my friend has a new 2010 Artic Cat 1000 Mud Pro. It is over heating and popping a code PO116. The machine is still under warranty and at the dealership. However, the dealership claims that they have never heard of that code and claim that the bike is not over heating. The dealership does not have a place to ride the bike to make it over heat again.
I had the bike out last weekend, did some light riding and it had over heated in 45 minutes. The radiator is clean and the fan does come on!
I am guessing either the thermostat, as that would be my first guess if it was anything like atuomobiles/tractors/etc. Next guess is the water pump, however it is impossible to see into the radiator without taking the whole front end off the bike.
Has anybody ever heard/seen the code PO116? What is the code for overheating??
Please help.
Bill

To my knowledge most codes must be reset by a dealership mechanic.
