I don't see where the ground clearance is that big a deal. It boast 11.5" which isn't bad considering the weight of the thing. I'm sure they lost an inch for a lower center of gravity.
In comparison, the Razor base model only has 10" of clearance while the Razor S has 12.5". The Outlander only has 12" (all 2010 models and numbers directly from the manufacturer's web site). By those numbers I don't think it's that far off par with ground clearance.
I agree though, that it would not be my first choice of vehicle for the woods by sheer size and weight alone.
