i've heard the same in regards to the standard EPI belt, but they have a heavy duty version and now a severe duty version. i definitely hear ya on the "getting stranded" issue. thinking about picking up a spare to keep with me, cause i ride alone a good bit, also. ideally, i'd run an aftermarket belt and keep the oem that i have now as my backup. just waiting for the money tree to start blooming...
