New Ohio Reciprocity Senate Bill 209 has been signed

Ohio Senate Bill to Restore APV Registration Reciprocity

More Info

Senate bill 209, introduced by Sen. John Carey (R-Wellston), would restore all-purpose vehicle (APV) registration reciprocity in the state of Ohio. Thus, allowing the owners of OHVs registered in other states to ride in Ohio without obtaining an Ohio APV registration. Indirectly, the bill would also allow Ohio residents to ride Ohio-registered vehicles in certain states without having to register their vehicles in those states.

Writing in support of the APV registration provisions in SB 209 the AMA told the House Finance and Appropriations Committee that, "... the loss of reciprocity has been a point of frustration for Ohio residents who occasionally recreate out of state, visitors to Ohio and state and federal land managers."

The bill has passed the House Finance and Appropriations Committee and AMA members are encouraged to write to their Ohio state representative in support of APV registration reciprocity.

On March 26, 2008 Governor Strickland has just signed this bill. This is a great thing!
